Real Nice Boot March 05, 2013

Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked
I have wide feet, 12.5 4E. I have no problems with with when ordering either New Balance or Dunham. I originally ordered these in a 4E but found the boot to be just a bit more "snug" than I prefer. I returned for the 6E and all is well. This is a very comfortable shoe. I am still breaking them in but they are very comfortable after just a few hours of wear. I can tell that these are going to be some real nice boots.

Really well designed and manufactured. I had to get a 6E to fit me. Initially, it was very tight. I compared the width of its base to that of a Converse Extra Wide. The Converse was wider but similar to that of another brand. However, after a week of wear the leather expanded so that the 6E now fits me perfectly. The moral is - the listed width varies from brand to brand and, with Drew, some patience is needed. But, It's worth putting up with the wear-in time. They are fine boots and strong enough to take the work I'll put them through.The only complaint I have is that for months the browns and blacks of this boot were unavailable in my size (10.5). Eventually, I gave in and ordered the nubuck/suede. They look well but I really have concerns with how I'm going to keep them clean. I've applied a waterproofing gel that will help. A hard brush will also help but that nubuck color is not going to be easy to keep clean, particularly with hiking and with jobs - wood cutting, digging and other garden work.

Bought these shoes to replace my usual workshoe, which was Sierra Footprints boot. It was made for people with very high arches and foot problems. I find the Drew boot to be very comfortable.

It is hard for me to find a comfortable shoe. I ordered and returned five other pairs before I got these. I am happy to have boots that fit and feel good. They easily accomodate my orthotics. I'm happy as a clam.
